Why do people hate Gays,Bi's.Les,and Transgenderd people

Personal examples:
I wanted to go to the Gay pride festival tomorrow.... here is what my rents said.

-im not aloud to see my friends agen because they saport gay,bi,les, and trans pride.

-I'm also not aloud to go to the pride parade because "Gay people will be there"~my mother. "Why the hell would you want to go to some freak parade they all should be shot on spot"~Dad.

The rest you dont want to know there basically making fun of me and Gay people. saying there worthless trash and such.

I really wish my parents weren't this way....
I asked my mom why and she said that there just 'freakydeaks" and I dont want you around them. .......Im bisexual....................ya.

Id really love to know why people hate Gays,Bi's.Les,and Transgenderd people. I think they are just afraid of change.

It could be that they are afraid of change. What they don't realize is that change is happening all around them. Also, some people grew up that way. That's what they were raised to know, and so that's what they know now. Honestly, my dad is one of the most Catholic people I know. He hated gay people. I told him I was a lesbian, and his mind flipped completely. He supports my girlfriend and I (who have been together for 10 months) and tries to protect us from what people say about us. People who are against gays, bisexuals, lesbians, and transgendered people, only realize that they're like everyone else when someone close to them tells them that they are. Anyways, when you get older, and if you decide to marry, or be with, a girl. Then I hope they support you. I'm sure your parents love you, and if you told them, they'd change their mind :). Anyways, I hope this helped. It's kinda long, and i didn't intend it to be. Err...Yeah. Hope it helped!

I have to agree with Rachel and you, that people are afraid of change. And I also think that it's the fact that people are still living in the time when they saw it as everyone got along well, and no one was different. That's the thing, our parents were raised in a different time period to know that people that are different are strange, unaccepted, and even condemned. Also like Rachel, my dad is a very strict Catholic person. He hates gays, and we even got into a fight for weeks about me doing the Day of Silence, and he said that if he could, he'd kill them all on the spot. What he doesn't know is that he'd be shooting his own daughter, and I don't think he'd keep the same view point if he knew I was bi. He, like most people, especially those die-hard Catholics, are most likely afraid of something new to come about. But if your parents are religious at all, try asking them if God would damn them for hating, or damn you for loving. This is really long, so I'm gunna end it now, but I hope I've helped. :]
